Senator McConnell Bashes Biden Administration in Press Release

Shortly before the press conference on Wednesday, McConnell released a statement (attached below) detailing the administration’s disrespect for the Republican party. “The problems are only exacerbated by the shocking demonstration of Democratic leadership performed today,” said McConnell, describing Wednesday's press conference as “laughable.”

In the press release McConnell insulted Biden’s “utter incompetence,” irrelevant discussions in press conferences, and his “temporary, band-aid executive orders.” In an inspiring display of bipartisanship, McConnell went on to say that he will no longer require Republican Senators to attend press conferences.

The minority leader concluded with complaints of the President’s poor communication. “[I]t is worth mentioning that despite my attempts to communicate with the President in good faith, I have literally never heard back,” said McConnell.

President Biden was surprised by this statement, saying “I’m a little concerned with his rhetoric on not being able to communicate with me . . .considering that he has never emailed me. The first email I received from Senator McConnell [was] the press release.

Marcia Fudge, Secretary of Domestic Affairs and member of Biden’s administration was disappointed by McConnell’s remarks. “He doesn’t know how much work the executive is actually putting in on making bipartisan legislation and making this session of Congress run smoothly,” said. She described the statement as “blatantly disrespectful.” Majority Leader Maise Hirono agrees, saying “This shows their lack of respect for the leader of our nation.”

Biden seemed surprised about the press release, but not upset. Instead, he looks to better future correspondence with the minority leader. “I look forward to communicating with him in the future, but in the meantime he can send me an email,” says Biden.
