Here is How the Republican Party feels about the New Minority Whip

Jonah Goldberg / October 24th 2022

During the Republican Caucus on October 26th 2022, the day after the resignation of Senator Ben Sasse, the Senate Republican party elected their new whip Senator Lindsery Graham. The party expressed overall satisfaction with this decision and are optimistic about the potential outcome this new leadership position will have, a sentiment I share with them. Here is what a few of them had to say about it :

Senator Graham says : “I do think my interest as a Senator aligns more with the preferences with the Party overall and I think my leadership can do a better job with advancing our agenda”.

Senator Romney says : “I definitely think it is a great decision. I think Senator Graham really aligns with our party values and will keep everything on the straight and narrow and I think it's going to be great moving forward from here. ”

The previous minority whip Ben Sasse, although pushed for he conservative values, was in serious need of media training. And although slightly exaggerated by liberals, the leadership position was not taken seriously enough and was mocked by poor behavior. Sasse was not the best decision for the party and the removal of his position is a step in the right direction for the overall success of the party. I am looking forward to seeing what Senator Lindsey Graham has to offer as a leader, and hope to see the Republican Party get back on the track of creating bi-partisan legislation, upholding conservative values, acting strategically, respecting the Senate processes and prioritizing the interests of the party as a whole.
