I am saddened about the events that occurred in this past week. On November 19 2022, there was a mass shooting at Club Q in Colorado. On this day, 5 were killed and over 18 were injured when someone walked in with an AR-15 and started shooting. This shooter is Anderson Lee Alrich, who had sent a bomb threat to his own mother prior to the shooting. It is said that he identifies with the LGBTQ+

community. So now I ask, why do these things keep happening? I’ll tell you. It is simple, we allow anyone to get a hold of a gun. Since then, there have been 16 more mass shootings across the country, according to GVA. America, what are we doing ? Why are we hurting each other?

The incident at Club Q in Colorado was not just a major loss for the LGBTQ+ community but for the community of Colorado and the entire United States. It sickens me how we keep ignoring the issue at hand and fighting over the second amendment. What about fighting for the right to go to school without worry that you'll be killed, or going out with friends and not being worried you'll be caught in a crossfire or even just simple grocery shopping. We need to do something for America. We cannot keep losing

innocent lives due to gun violence. I want to remind you, that despite minimal media coverage these acts of violence are real and happening everyday. Prayers to all those we have lost and their families. Choose love, and kindness over anything. Let's stop the violence.
